Week 1

Overview: The era of blended learning, The blended learning model, Survival to sustenance, Implementing NEP to benefit students, The four certain transitions (teacher driven to student-centric, lectures to learning experiences, monitoring attendance to promoting engagement, summative to formative assessment), The new learning path, The three core skills every educator needs.

Technology to Communicate and Collaborate: Technology to deepen educator’s knowledge, Communicating and interacting with students and parents (emails, whatsapp), Making amazing educational PowerPoint presentations, Podcasting and blogging in education, Building an online discussion forums, Creating a class website, Recording lectures, Delivering live lectures, Social networking, Data collection, Online games as learning tools, Mastering video conferencing

Week 2

Pedagogical Skills

Topics Covered

Pedagogical Transition from Teaching to Learning: Definition of Learning, Connectivism Learning Theory, Characteristics of Learners in The Digital Era, Strategies to teach the digital learners, Development of learning skills (Critical thinking, Reflection, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity), Elements of effective learning experiences, Examples of learning experiences in maths, science, and languages, Designing learning experiences

Week 3

Performance Management

Topics Covered

Student Performance Management: Engagement drives performance, Building relationships to create engagement, Be an observant, aware, and interactive educator, Motivating students, Building relationships with parents

 

Redefining Assessment: Determining the purpose of an assessment, Implementing valuable assessment practices, Designing accurate assessments, Assessment Rubric, Assessment techniques (Peer Assessment, Peer-mentor Pairs, Open-book exams, and others)

Course Assessment

Formative Assessment in Action

The course grade will be determined on the following parameters:

  1. Weekly Plan 1 - 20%

  2. Weekly Plan 2 - 20%

  3. Weekly Plan 3 - 20%

  4. Presenting a Case - 10%

  5. Engagement - 15%

  6. Attendance - 5%

  7. Discussions - 10%

Certificate of Completion

All participants with 100% attendance

 

Certificate of Merit

Participants with a score of more than 70%

 

Certificate of Excellence

Three participants with highest scores.

Weekly Plans

Each participant will submit his/her individualised implementation plan every week. Each plan will focus on the topics covered in that week. Participants will be able to submit the plan anytime between 6 PM on Friday to 12 Noon on Sunday.

 

Presenting a case

Every week on Wednesday participants will be invited to submit a case study on the topic of the week. The case studies will be selected by the mentors for presentation.

Engagement

The course consists of several polls, questionnaires, and activities. Participants are expected to participate in these actively.

Attendance

100% attendance in all sessions is mandatory for course certificate.

Discussions

Participants are expected to proactively and meaningfully discuss their concerns and issues with the panel of mentors on every Thursday.
